Eating when you’re hungry versus eating for pleasure are two very different things. It is easy to eat mindlessly in this day and age, and a strategy to proactively eat for energy is important.
Biological energy is responsible for all the physical functioning in the body, and when it becomes depleted, emotional energy will rise up to create movement toward finding nourishment. Without a plan developed out of our goals for better nutrition and health, the emotions tend to choose the most convenient and satisfying strategy.
Some strategies that can help emotional energy work for you in your pursuit of the best energetic nourishment include:
– Eat a protein-rich breakfast…it can diminish hunger all day.
– Instead of raiding the refrigerator when you’re feeling stressed out, be proactive and reduce your stress through regular exercise and other stress-reducing strategies.
– Do you want to eat more and weigh less? Consume more low-calorie nutrient dense foods such as organic fruits, veggies, and lean proteins (without the unhealthy additions such as fatty dressings, and cheese). Eating these items before or during a meal can curb your appetite and reduce your overall caloric intake.
– Remove from your menu processed foods, sugar, artificial sweeteners, and wheat products. Strive to eat gluten free as much as possible.
When your biological energy is full, your emotional energy can stay focused on helping you move toward all your other important goals for the day.
